Your role
We are looking for a new Head of Project Management Office (PMO) FCC ( Fighter Core Capabilities) to our department in Production Järfälla. Are you an experienced leader who wants to combine excellent leadership skills and strategic thinking in the focal point of hardware? This might be the position for you!
Project Management Office (PMO) FCC is our home to subproject managers within Production Järfälla with focus on Business Unit Fighter Core Capabilities. As Head of PMO, you will lead leaders in a department consisting of approximately 13 subproject managers and other vital key roles.
Your department’s focus is to plan and execute our production project, including new product introduction (NPI) projects accordance to quality, time and cost targets. Moreover, to ensure efficient and effective ways of working and implementation of new best practices in planning and execution of projects in close collaboration with business unit and internal stakeholders.
Business Unit Fighter Core Capabilities is one of our two main stakeholders regarding production assignments and future production demands. You will both be a member of Production Järfälla management team and an important spokesperson for Production Järfälla in production project related issues. Your engagement and interactions will reach beyond Production, why you will be a natural member of several project steering groups.
Your responsibilities in short:
- Translating Saab, Surveillance and Production strategies into clear and well-communicated targets for your organization.
- Leading according to Saab´s organizational values.
- Full responsibility for results within your area, which includes safety and health, quality, delivery capacity, efficiency and finance.
- Coaching and development of abilities and competences in your team and by so growing your staff to take on more complex and demanding tasks.
- Empower your employees through value driven leadership.
- Secure product on-time deliveries with right quality and cost
- Follow-up and report status of ongoing production and NPI projects
- Chairman of resource and capacity planning meetings within your area.
- Develop efficient ways of working within your area, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvements.
- Maintain and develop relations to all relevant stakeholders.
Your profile

- Bachelor or Master of Science in engineering, project management, other adequate educational or equal working experience.
- Minimum two years of leadership experience within a relevant area, e.g. project management, team leading or line management.
- Minimum two years of experience of project management in combination with manufacturing knowledge.
- Proven ability and interest in leading, developing and challenging the organization, management teams and employees.
- Skills to combine strategic thinking with operational actions.
- Strong business understanding and customer focus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent skills in spoken and written Swedish and English
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
Business Area Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions.
Production Järfälla belongs to Business Unit FCC, with mission to primary serve Fighter Core Capabilities with production capacity and capability.
You will be a member of the Production Järfälla management team, together with management colleges from PMO, Production Planning, Manufacturing and Quality with support from HRBP, Finance and Business Excellence, and report to Head of Production Järfälla.
